For best results with hard dirt, use a small amount of stain remover to treat any really dirty stains.

Place your jacket / sleeping bag in the washing machine and run a program for delicate washing, always check the washing thread label before starting.

Let the jacket go through the program and then run it again without detergent to make sure that all detergent is gone.

When it’s time to dry, use a very low heat setting on the dryer and throw in three clean tennis balls to help break up wet lumps in the down. If you do not have any tennis balls, you can put shoes in clean socks or make sock balls as a replacement.

The drying process will be slow, but that’s the most important part, so be patient. It usually takes about 2-3 hours to dry a light down jacket.

You know when your jacket has completely dried when it is
light, fluffy and lump-free.

Make sure that your jacket / sleeping bag is completely dry before you hang it in, if there is moisture left, this can damage the insulation properties of your garments.

Always store your down jackets and sleeping bags in a clean and dry place.
